Our Windows 7 computer crashed suddenly two days ago during normal operation. Since then the computer does not want to start-up anymore. Neither option will do any good. The computer may get as far as showing the Windows logo, but after a short time the screen will go black and that’s that. Using the Windows 7 DVD does not help. It appears as if Windows is starting-up however it ends at the same black screen as above.
Pressing F8 during initial boot will bring me to a screen providing a host of options amongst which: – Repair your computer. However none of the listed options will start-up Windows. Obviously by taking the PC to Geek Squad I had to take the power cable out, so during the drive to the store the PC apparently discharged. So for everybody who has this same problem in the future: add removing the power cable from the PC for, say, 30 minutes to the list of things to try to solve the problem.
